Rambling, hop scotch, jumping from one thing to another. I suppose the only reason you would think that is because it is true. 😉
I have been going to Mount Pleasant with my pals after school in the early 60's and now, as an old man a half century later.
After being alone with my pups I have came out and taken thousands of photos.
For a while I had a fun idea about building an observation tower on Mt Pleasant. It did not take too long for it to fade thinking about the negatives.
Before sharing this imagination creation, you might peek at the magic bean page :)
Wonder IF a live video camera was erected on top of Mount Pleasant?
Instead of a lot of people saying they were for or against the idea, there should be a list of every thing that could go wrong, how would it be paid for and how might it it benefit tho people of whoville.
Wonder if some goof tried to climb it
How high would it have to be to be above the trees
Will the soil support it
How could it be erected
What maintenance would it need?
How would foggy weather affect the view
How could the lens be cleaned in snow or rain
Could it be powered with solar power?
Would lightning affect it?
When they put the fire works off, would it be affected?
What about insurance?
Who might contribute to the project?

Asking Google AI about possible support from a cell company or the national weather guys
//
Yes, communities, local governments, and tourism boards frequently partner with both cell tower operators and weather services (like Earth Networks or AccuWeather) to host live webcams.
This mutually beneficial arrangement provides local governments with free or subsidized camera infrastructure while offering their partners high-visibility real estate and localized atmospheric data.
Here is how the dynamic works for each partner:
1. Cell Tower Businesses
The Win: Cell tower companies (such as American Tower or Crown Castle) own elevated infrastructure with high-speed internet and power. Partnering with a city to mount a camera provides them with continuous visual site security and monitoring.
The Draw: The cameras act as traffic generators for the tower company's proprietary networks or media feeds, offering live skyline, highway, or tourist views to the public.
2. National Weather Services
The Win: Meteorologists and weather networks require hyper-localized visual data to verify weather conditions, snowpack, or storm fronts in real-time.
The Draw: By sponsoring or hosting a camera, weather services get continuous visual feeds to broadcast during severe weather coverage, greatly enhancing their reporting accuracy while promoting their brand to local viewers.
3. Community Benefits
The Win: Municipalities and tourism boards get expansive, elevated views of their skylines, beaches, or parks without the high capital costs of building new camera towers.
The Draw: Live cameras drive tourism by allowing prospective visitors to check conditions in real-time. Cities also use these feeds for public safety, such as monitoring traffic flow and observing coastal storms or beach erosion.
AI can make mistakes, so double-check responses
End of Google.

If our Falcon camera existed:
Where ever we were and the clouds were playing nice we could watch the sunsets and sunrise.
Events at the fairgrounds could be observide and I figure that would draw people there.
Those on Mount Pleasant could do selfies.
Those who moved away could visit their hometown surf.
A couple years ago some 'kids' i had taken pics years before came up and wanted to do facetime with another of their pals that lives in north carolina.
I would bet there would be a lot of that, people coming up and having the urge to talk to friends or family that have moved away.
People in nursing homes or those who live alone could visit to see what the chipmunks were up to.
Is there any way this might assist the airport.
They have easter sunrise services there, maybe add a live broadcast to their event.
I have seen weddings on Mt Pleasant they could share their events.
It has been longer than a tootsie roll, but I remember broadcast signing on and off with a song, maybe something like that .. a radio station or community broadcast in the morning and evening.
You can see columbus from mount pleasant what can be seen looking east, over the trees with a web cam?
Drones are shakey and can't stay up long but might give a clue of the possible view like this one.
When thinking about a tower this were the thoughts, but after considering all the pain, a new version
A group here if anyone has any ideas.
You can add a smily face if you would donate a dollar to the project, symbolic of course.
You can inject problems not considered here
You can input ideas that might project. Just a place to daydream, what if.
In the last years of my life Mt Pleaant is something I have had to look forward to
If a trust fund could be set up for the project, indeed I would contribute.
JUST LANCASTER, no every township in the county might benefit. In the years that I have been visiting they come from all over.
A couple times coming down the trail after dark, the police were after us. I suppose if there were a camera, it would be easier for them to do their job (maybe a speaker 😕) oh no.
Twlight produces the most amazing photos. Doing time lapse of the clouds after sunset boring nothing to see. it might take over an hour to capture the clip but when processed. Look through after dark photos taken .
Looking at the sky and background in that minute this is what you would see
But after taking hundreds and processing them this is the magic sky through time lapse. Combining clips taken over the years
The county fair attracts all. I am not sure what kind of draw those lights would have but believe such a camera would catch the eyes of this turf and those who moved away.. all over the world.
Day dreamers who will play, what if, bounce the idea of others to see where the ball bounces.
