When someone asked if Mt Pleasant was wheel chair accessible, I thought I will add this part.
Better than me telling you what a hike up Mt Pleasant is like, here is a youtube video I added to my play list
In this video: a 6:45 in the video is the steepest part At 6:50 in the video you would NOT fo left but RIGHT ->
I met this guy who made this video and added him to the facebook page this year.
As for danger, going up the trail has no more danger than tipping over on the gravel, the height of the wheel chair. In the years I know about no one has been harmed by sitting on the edge. It is those who climb up the rocks that are harmed.. and thousands that climb only have a fun adventure n photos for show n tell
I do not know of any areas below the trail up Mt P that are not easy to get around..
Surface on top
"Wheelchair accessible" means a place or vehicle has been designed or modified to allow someone using a wheelchair to enter and navigate it easily, By No means fits Mt p
The park now has allterian buggies that come up if needed.
Eaier than climbing Mount Everest. Depending on the desire to make it happen I suppose.
Luke rides his bike up the trail non stop. Me (now 81) in the last couple years I have to stop a couple times.. holding on my pup and camera stuff.
How many hmmm just a few I found on Mr Google Here
With some guys/girls from a gym, a church group, family members, of course it would be possible and a great memory.
You would have to plan a great, not a lot of rain, sky not overcast and the path you would take when you got there.
Mapping out Mt P areas
When people call in I hear the guys ask where at. I dont have a phone with the internet but I think all new phones include gps in photos
Who ever calls in could simply send a pic of anything where they were standing.. guess u have means to read metadata (if it is included)
Google "my-maps" are free, I just did this one of the post for a map I am working on
Because of the trees on the edge of mt p, a drone set of pics above the rails and below them might be included
An early concept of Mount Pleasant grids, but gps might be better.
I must have taken a couple hundred pics of the chipmunks climbing or sitting on the edge.. the same has been repeated over a century,
Spending a lot of time thinking about Mount Pleasant Projects I experimented with "my maps". A free Google platform this is one of mine
Me n da dog has most of the top layed out, but there is a big area below to be mapped out. I am no kid and trying to hold onto my pup, a camera and walking on rocks is not easy.
The idea is for them to team up, being safe and climb around all sides of Mount Pleasant, capturing gps positions
There are hundreds of visitors that come for the first time. One idea is to place a sign with a QR code.. kind of a safety outline .
The camera adds the gps and compass heading on the lower right
I went out one of the remaining nice days and had to tie the pup to a post. It wasn't easy to get to the spots and I doubt few people would watch long if it were composed of a bunch of rocks.
This month I shared my goofy adventures
